Break out your classic and join us for a leisurely drive to visit Ham Orchards (Terrell, TX) and The Tyler Rose Garden (Tyler, TX).
The Ham Orchards were founded in 1979 by Dale and Judy Ham and began with a modest orchard of 50 trees on a 23-acre plot. The orchards now consist of 450 trees which includes an ever-expanding fruit variety with each passing year.
Event Schedule:
10:00 AM: Meet up at Chevron gas station (4151 N. Central Expressway, Dallas, TX 75206)
10:15 AM: Depart for Buc-ee’s (506 I-20, Terrell, TX 75160)
11:00 AM: Arrive at Buc-ee’s where we’ll stretch our legs, fuel up and grab some treats
11:15 AM: Depart for Ham Orchards
11:30 AM: Arrive at Ham Orchards
At Ham Orchard’s we’ll visit their open air market where will get a chance to select from their wide variety of produce, fruit, perserves, old-fashioned fudge, cider, pecans and strawberry ice cream.
We’ll also eat lunch at The BBQ Pavilion where we can choose from a selection of pulled pork, brisket, sausage, hot dogs and chicken.
After lunch we’ll head over to the Tyler Rose Gardens (420 Rose Park Drive. Tyler 75702) which is about an hour drive further east. The Tyler Rose Garden is the world's largest public collection of roses which showcases over 38,000 rose bushes.
The Tyler Rose Garden features beautifully designed formal gardens, fountains, and well-manicured hedges. These areas provide a serene backdrop for photography and quiet contemplation. Admission is free!
